Baby Robins

A nest on the porch Is home to baby robins That have bright red chests. The mother arrives With her beak full of worms for Her babies to eat. Their beaks wide open, They eagerly prepare to Have a nice supper. They chirp happily As the mother drops the worms Right into their beaks. The babies hatched from A strange kind of egg that is A bright shade of blue. Soon the babies grow To fly and sit upon trees And sing each morning. Once they've left the nest, Another bird will arrive To lay some more eggs. Once the eggs are laid, More robins will hatch and start The cycle again.

Kur Tu esi?

Kur Tu esi? Mana visdārgā latviete, Tu esi mans prieks!

Tis human to be violent

I've also come to the realization that maybe it's just in our nature to behave the way we do. Look no further than the animal kingdom as resounding proof of this. Animals kill each other all the time and one can't seriously suggest that they themselves have also been conditioned by today's violent media in order to behave in such fashion. If you're going to go by the theory that implies that the only thing that separates us from the rest of the food chain is our superior our intellect and nothing more. Then our own behavior is merely a reflection of how every other species of life behave on this planet (at least in principle). Consider the following: 1) Animals fight each other over territory. So do we. 2) Animals fight each other over food. So do we. 3) Animals fight each other over mating rights. So do we. 4) Animals fight each other for the sake of establishing superiority over the rest of the flock. So do we. Sometimes I think to myself that this is the only

Arli the Dragon's Beauty School Application

Dear Head of the Fairy Beauty School, My name is Arli, and I am a dragon. I am writing this application with great enthusiasm and a burning desire to become a part of your esteemed beauty school, despite being well aware that it primarily admits fairies. As a dragon, I understand that I am different from the typical candidates you receive, but I believe my unique perspective and passion for beauty can contribute to a more inclusive and diverse learning environment. Throughout history, dragons have often been portrayed as fierce and powerful creatures, feared by many. But beneath my scales and fiery breath, beats a heart that longs to explore the artistry and magic of beauty. I have spent countless hours observing fairies and other magical beings, admiring their elegance, creativity, and ability to enhance the world around them. I wish to learn from the best and hone my skills, not only for my personal growth but also to challenge the stereotypes associated with dragons. I am deeply

The Bridal Altar

There was a woman betrayed and abandoned by her cruel husband. On her deathbed, she made her daughter pledge to never marry any man on the face of the earth. But the daughter did fall in love. “What can we do?” she asked her sweetheart. “I love you, but I am a woman of my word who would never break a vow like my father did to my mother.” Her sweetheart smiled and brought her underground into the labyrinth of Mammoth Cave, where they exchanged their vows and fulfilled a promise, surrounded by ancient formations as witnesses.

The Star Warrior Nutcracker Ch. 10

“Now remember,” daroach whispered to the squeaker guarding the door to his chambers, “under no circumstances are you to disturb us. Well, unless, of course, if there’s an emergency like the castle’s on fire or something, but other than that, you are not to open this door! Understand?” The guard saluted “Yes, you’re majesty” “Good” daroach took off his hat, licked his paw and slicked back his fur. he figured an hour was enough time for her to compose herself, and he was too anxious to wait any longer. "Alright," he said, clapping his hands together, "here it goes" he reached for the door handle and was about to unlock it when he paused How should he go about this? ask her straight out or woo her a little first? "Come on, this shouldn't be hard" he told himself "you already did this to the fairy queen" but it had been different with the fairy queen. his intentions then been solely for power and hadn't held any affection for her. he didn't want adeleine to just say yes. strange as

Chapter Four: New Routines

Another Dream. This one was different than The Dream. Horatia stood peering out the transparent clockface of The Grand Clocktower, sitting in the crook of someone’s arm. Surrounded by warmth and able to detect the soft, regular rhythms of a heartbeat when she leaned back against the chest behind her. The perspective revealed a vast, forested valley. “Look, Horatia,” a voice nearby said. She was unable to catch any other attributes aside from the words, except that they were comforting. “The Crystal Dragons have arrived.” And as if on cue, they did come, soaring through the skies in droves—serpentine forms that glistened in the early morning sunlight like radiant prisms, casting miniature rainbows on the woods below. They had grand butterfly wings and came in various sizes. “Why do they fly here, _____?” she asked. Her own voice seemed quite small and faltering in comparison to the one that belonged to the individual holding her, which itself was

Ignorance and I: A Note in Self-Reflection

"Know thy own ignorance, for doing so is to take the first step on the path of enlightenment." I know my own ignorance, and I believe that it is something that I should share with the populace of this site, lest they misunderstand my ways and thought-processes, and take offence. However, the secondary purpose of this piece is to have it expressed down in writing so that I do not misunderstand myself. I believe that learning about oneself is life-long university course - here is today's lecture. I must preface my explanation with a disclaimer that I accept everyone for their sexuality or gender identity - because, really, it is none of my business what feels natural to people. If it harms none, then it is all good. See my posts on LGBT+ acceptance. I must confess that, as an autistic person, I have always seen the world in a very contrasting way - 'black and white', as the phrase goes. Uncertainty unsettles me greatly. Thus, I have always been quite comfortable with the ideas of

Pass It On

Everyone had just about settled into their theater seats for the piano performance when Mrs. Quinn realized her four-year-old son was missing. She and her husband instantly began a frantic search for him, cut short when they noticed several audience members whispering about some strange child crawling onto the stage. They looked and gasped, for their little Jeremy had clambered onto the stage, and then onto the piano bench. He tapped on the keys. Mrs. Quinn could have kicked herself. To stoke her son’s excitement for the upcoming recital, she had taught him the first few notes of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” on their piano at home, and now he was showing off what he had learned, again and again, to the astonished onlookers. The parents pushed their way along the row towards the aisle, already murmuring the initial batch of the many apologies they would likely have to deliver while retrieving their son. It would be a nightmare.

I want to commission a fanfic but...

Honestly, right now I'm really itching to commission someone for a fanfic. But at the same time I have a hard time finding any actual good writers. My usual fanfic writer I go to for commissions is on another hiatus. She's slow but her prices are perfect and her writing style is what I like most. She's also willing to write about absolutely anything and is also good at researching. It's honestly impossible to find anyone like her. To anyone who reads this, I have some spare points/cash I want to use on a fanfic commission or two (or maybe a comic commission). However, if you want me to commission you, there are some details you should keep in mind that keep me away from most fanfic writers on this site: If you demand cash payments, do NOT demand a rate of "100 words =$1" or anything higher I HATE seeing this around since it makes the whole thing needlessly expensive. This is because my country's currency is a lot weaker than the USD and for personal reasons I don't have PayPal and

Columbine

Do you believe in God? Can he save You from this bullet In this gun that's in your face? No. She looked at me in defiance This gun posed no threat She believed in God But was she afraid? Yes. Why did she say yes? Wasn't she afraid of me? I had power, she didn't cower She must be crazy Maybe. I shot her A bullet through the head Because of her beliefs She is dead because she said Yes. Her look is forever burned into my mind Fear, sadness, sympathy Why would she have sympathy on me? Maybe her God is real... No.
